This project was about self mending, with the Japanese approach of Wabi Sabi in mind: allowing the the marks we carry on our body to be the beautiful signs of imperfections.

The Kintsugi approach is an ancient Chinese method of mending broken vessels, mainly ones with sentimental values, thus repairing what is broken with gold covering the glued parts.

The bag is made of Zulu leather and a metal buckle. The leather was laser cut to shape, including the rings holes.

The rings were made by hand with the help of Shenkar's jewelry department.

The rings were then assembled by hand, attaching each piece, allowing the natural movement  of the bag.
