“Smart Fashion” course was about creating clothing that mediates or assists some sort of social interaction.
I chose to create an extrovert dress that will help the introvert wearer to socialize with others.
By being an introvert person myself, I found that the lack of direct eye contact within the conversation makes it harder for people to relate and understand me. My dress creates the eye contact while being in conversation with someone else by moving its on eyes to the direction of the sound.
In addition, I found that my body languge doesn’t always translate well to others, and so I’ve created a visible sign by lighting LEDs on a specific body position: while hands are placed in pockets, position might suggest that the person is in some kind of stress; LEDs being on signals the environment: “Please help me; Please know I am stressed”.
